Huntington Beach

huntingtonbeachHunington Beach is famous for its location on an 8.5 mile long beach adjacent to Costa Mesa in Orange County, CA.  It has quality surfing, with a unique wave structure generated by the offshore island of Catalina and its south-west facing location.

Arts and culture are strong here, with the famed Sawdust Arts Festival taking place annually.  Surf City Nights is held during the entire year. The community-spirited event features a farmer’s market, unique entertainment, food, kiddie rides and a carnival atmosphere, each Tuesday evening.

Huntington Beach has a Mediterranean climate, being normally sunny, dry and cool, with some fog in May and June.

This is the world‘s second most visited theme park, ranking only behind the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.

Disneyland Park is located in Anaheim, Orange  County.  Parking is available at the  Mickey & Friends Parking Structure, 1313 S. Disneyland Drive, Anaheim, CA 92802.

The Orange County Fair

ocfairThe Orange County Fair is a five-day long event that brings thousands of people to Costa Mesa every year.  It dates from 1890 and was originally comprised mainly of livestock shows and horse races.  The State of California became involved after the end of  World War II and it formed what was called the “32nd District Agricultural Association” to run the fair.

The Fair was relocated to land purchased by the State from the Santa Ana Army Air Base. The Orange County Fair has ben a five day event since  1949.
